Point Loma Nazarene University students start back to school the first week of September. If your child needs extra support in school, or you need a parents' night out, let us know. We will connect you to a PLNU student.

You set the schedule and rate directly with them. We just help you make the connection.

Program for 6th & 7th Graders

Mr. Benjamin's Cotillion — Fall 2026

Mr. Benjamin's Cotillion is once again being offered to incoming 6th and 7th graders — a 73-year tradition (est. 1954) with three generations of San Diego families participating throughout San Diego County. The program is taught by Mr. Peter Benjamin and involves a series of 1-hour classes held over 6 months. Classes for Point Loma families are held at Silver Gate Elementary School, beginning October 2026.

Cost$320 for the 6-month program — one-time payment or 2-payment option

Topics CoveredFirst impressions, eye contact, firm handshakes, proper introductions, how to hold a conversation, table manners, cell phone and social media etiquette, character development, and social dancing

This program stresses the development of kindness and graciousness. In a world of rapidly evolving electronic communication, Mr. Benjamin reviews and reinforces the fundamental skills of human interaction that remain basic and unchanged.
